８月６日 Santiago~Easter Island Toruは３だぞ
↑We ate luxurious breakfast.
豪華な朝食を食べました。
↑We will stay this hotel on 8th
August again.
８月８日にもう一回ここに泊まります。
↑At last we can go to the Easter
Island.
ついにイースター島へ！
↑It takes us 6 hours to get there. What
a long flight!
イースター島へは６時間かかります。長いフライトだなぁ～。
↑On the way, We talked a lot with
Paul, who was sitting next to my seat and is teacher in Netherlands. He came to
Peru with his family and trips to Easter Island alone. I gave No.436 YAMANEKO
to him. It’s YAMANKO’s first time to go to Netherlands.
途中、隣に座ったオランダ人のPaulさんとたくさん話しました。彼はペルーへ家族で来て、イースター島へは一人で旅行します。山ネコNo.４３６をあげました。山ネコがオランダに行くのは初めてです。また進出した国が増えました～。
↑After 6 hours flight, we arrived
in the Easter Island around 1:30 PM at the local time. Its time zone is the
same as Peru.
６時間のフライトの後、現地時間の午後１：３０頃イースター島へ着きました。ペルーと同じ時間帯です。
↑We are here in the Easter Island!
ついにイースター島へ来たぞ～！
↑When we went out from the airport,
John, who is local tour guide, took us to sightseeing right away. This is the
east coast.
空港について、すぐにツアーガイドのJohnさんが観光に連れて行ってくれました。東海岸です。
↑This island is similar to Tonga,
maybe because both of country belongs to the Polynesian triangle. I asked John
“What does my name Toru mean in your local language?” the answer is the same as
I expected. The answer is “No.3” the same as Tonga, New Zealand (Maori), Samoa,
Fiji…all Polynesian countries. I was so impressed to hear that.
この島はトンガに似ていました。たぶん、ポリネシアントライアングルに属している国だからでしょう。Johnさんに「自分の名前のToruは地元の言葉で何て言う？」と聞きました。答えは期待通りでした。
その答えは「３」です。トンガ・ニュージーランド（先住民のマオリ）・サモア・フィジーなどポリネシアの国と同じです。感動です！！

↑We saw souvenirs a little. Their
face is also very similar to Tongan.
おみやげを少し見ました。彼らの顔もまたトンガ人とそっくりです。この人たちCDUのTalahivaさんとSelaちゃんにそっくり。
↑We visited east coast and north
coast. Here is Rano Raraku.
東と北の海岸を廻りました。Rano

↑There are so many Moai’s. He
taught us how to make Moai and which materials they used.
たくさんのモアイがいます。Johnさんはどうやってモアイを作るか、どの石を使うか教えてくれました。
↑This Moai is very polite.

island.

been to Japan by boat to inform something about Chile in 1981.
左から二番目のモアイは１９８１年にチリとの友好の証で日本に行ったそうです。
↑The Japanese crane company TADANO
restored Moais.
クレーン会社のTADANOさんがモアイを修復したようです。
↑Here is Anakena Beach.

↑We can see Moais anywhere in the
island.
島のどこでもモアイが見られます。
↑We cannot see the sign anywhere in
the world except for here. Don’t stamp (touch) Moais.
世界中どこを探しても、この看板を見られる場所は、他にないでしょうね。「モアイ踏んじゃ(触っちゃ)ダメ～」
↑Around 7 o’clock, we arrived at
hotel.
７時頃ホテルに着きました。
↑We took a nap right away. We were
so tired.
すぐに昼寝をしました。とても疲れていました。
↑After 5 hours nap, we went out and
５時間の昼寝の後、外に出て、
↑tried to see the southern cross,
which I saw every night when I was in Tonga, but we couldn’t find it. Maybe
tomorrow.
トンガ時代に毎晩のように見ていた南十字星を探しましたが見られませんでした。また明日～。
